Arizona, Paria Wilderness, windblown sandstone formations, dr202
The wind blows hard sometimes across the dunes and sandstone formations of the Paria Wilderness. It acts like a sandblaster on the landscape sculpting forms and patterns. Sculpted knife-edge sandstone about a foot high is fragile and I had to be careful where I stepped so I wouldn’t damage the formations. A windstorm from a different direction and the patterns will change, revealing a new and unique shape. |
