Renexts and Comments

United States Department of the Interior:

Mr. Howard’s photographic work is inspirational and has significantly contributed to the success of the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) land conservation program along Idaho’s outstanding Snake River. Mr. Howard’s beautiful Snake River photographs have been used in presentations to Congressional appropriators, nonprofit conservation organizations, and charitable foundations to generate nearly $43,000,000 for private land conservation along the river. Conserving approximately 18,000 acres of private lands via fee title and conservation easement acquisition augments the management federal lands administered by the BLM and the U.S. Forest Service and precludes unfettered development of these popular and sensitive river front properties.

“Mr. Howard represents all that is beautiful and splendid in the Mountain West. His inspiring works of art allow for so many to gain an understanding of the beautiful environment in which we live. More importantly, Mr. Howard’s art manages to capture to true essence of our regions greatest natural wonders and landscapes. Because of this, individuals can gain a better understanding of our region and why it is so important to play a role in its conservation. Mr. Howard’s appreciation for our regions natural wonders is shown through his varied publications including, Idaho Impressions, Idaho Wild and Beautiful, and Utah’s Wilderness Areas: The Complete Guide to name a few.

We have been fortunate enough to showcase his artwork here at our Resort and have received many compliments and inquiries about his artwork. Many of our guests become mesmerized by the beauty of the natural landscape which surrounds our property; this has facilitated many unique adventures and conversations. I personally believe that because of showcasing his artwork here at our Lodge, we have been able to better capture the essence of this region and our guests enjoy the area with a better understanding and reverence for all that we have to offer.

In addition to Leland’s wondrous photographs, I have also come to know him professionally and feel inclined to mention that he has been an absolute pleasure to deal with; and would further like to maintain that his integrity and follow through are second to none.

“Your work is truely captivating.  I honestly felt that I could step into the pictures and feel them.  It is not often that pictures make you feel that way, and yours certainly did.  You have a wonderful eye and a gifted talent to capture this.  And the places you go are simply beautiful and serene.  Kind of makes me feel that East Coast living is not the place to be!

I Just want you to know that I received the photos a few weeks ago and they are just GORGEOUS!  I was so pleased with the quality and the crispness of each photo.  They look fantastic and I have recieved many compliments on them already.  A friend actually thought I had Ansel Adams prints...Imagine that!  So take that as a compliment, of course.  :)           Thank you for sharing your wonderful work! ”

“We received the pictures and they are absolutely beautiful.  Thank you so much for your help in making the choices on framing, etc.”

I found your website and spent some time in your gallery. Magnificent is all I can say! You seem to find the emotional element in a scene and communicte the mystery that must speak to you as the observer. I want to enter those photographs and hike beyond the frame .

Your work is stunning and rich and lush. I really enjoyed nexting it. I certainly understand why Idaho's Public Television station would have you as one of the photographers for the "Picturing Idaho" video. I've never questioned the idea of photography being fine art. I KNOW it is. And your work is more proof of that fact.

The print is finally framed and on my wall and I am in awe. It's great to get up in the morning and see it hanging there, it is really an inspiring work of art. Makes me wish I lived in the Pahsimeroi Valley. Thanks

I purchased a large version of your Moulton barn print this fall, and I just wanted to let you know what a hit it was over Christmas.  That land holds many special memories for my husband, and on Christmas morning when I led him out to see his gift, he was choked up over the lovely work.  Thanks so much for capturing such a beautiful, meaningful landscape and for your timely, professional communications and shipping.  It was a pleasure doing business with you, and we will enjoy our heirloom print for many years to come.

Sincerely,

Katharina Bullington Moulton

"Leland!

I wanted to let you know that our program Picturing Idaho has been nominated for an Emmy this year. We couldn't have it without you and all your help. So pat yourself on the back a bit for giving us such a wonderful story to tell and such amazing images to show. I hope you're well and that we get to share a few drinks one of these days. Perhaps not at 10,000 feet this time!

We won the coveted Golden Eagle Award fron the CINE Film Festival.

All the best!

"I wanted to tell you how professional and sharp your presentation was, and how much patrons relished your work. My favorite was one that reminded me of Salvador Dali--it was very surreal. It's hard to say that was my favorite, I was touched by many of them.  Your artistry is amazing".

"I am in awe... not to mention in tears. This morning I received your four prints. Stunning and moving would be a complete understatement".

Governor Dirk Kempthorne:

"Your photos are magnificent and you capture the beauty of Idaho perfectly, truly beautiful".

Angela Olson:

" Perhaps it's difficult to imagine how happy it makes me to see my prints every morning and every evening when I come home and I wish I could adequately describe the happiness I feel when I see them. I wish I could explain to you why they've come to mean so much to me, but maybe that doesn't matter. I just want you to know that your work touches me in a very special way. It helps me dream, believe, and to remain hopeful; it helps to remind me to look for the beauty in everything and to appreciate the gifts we are given everyday. I find myself watching sunrises and sunsets, something I have forgotten to do over the years, something I would guess most of us forget as life wears us down. Thank you again for sharing you work and your perspective".

Diane Hawk:

"The beauty is almost too much for words."

Jen Bodnar:

"Dear Mr. Howard,
To begin with you are an awesome and talented artist. I have enjoyed nexting all of your work displayed on your website. I have a fine art background and my father was a photographer of portraits and the outdoors, he taught me much about composition and light. You create feelings with your work not just pretty photographs. Thank you for the experience! I am currently in the process of building a website/business of the Continental Divide Trail system. It is an informative site on the trail and its highlights including maps and suggested areas and adventure stories. It will also be an outdoor supply and clothing store. I am in search of powerful imagery to use within the site both singularly and on a rotating basis. Your photography is spectacular and speaks well to the feeling that I want to portray within our site. We are interested in getting a quote on a price for a CD of your photography of the Continental Divide".
Sincerely,
Cheryl
