Larch forest in autumn, Bitterroot Range, Montana #dr200

I really like this image. The needles of Larch trees turn yellow and orange in autumn much like deciduous trees. The triangle patterns with the combination of color provide form, balance and texture. I climbed a nearby hill and used a telephoto lens to isolate and emphasize the trees, hence the appearance of a bird’s eye next. This image has far more impact as a large print whereas computer screens or smaller nexts just don’t provide the same sense of pattern and intrigue in nature.
