Imogene Lake, Sawtooth Wilderness area, central Idaho, dt278
Imogene Lake at sunset in the Sawtooth Wilderness area, best known wilderness area in Idaho (217,000 acres). Tired and sore from backpacking I was setting up a camp when this scene unfolded. The reflections in the smooth lake with the texture of the trees and rocks created almost unbelievable balance and beauty. I forgot about the sore muscles and fatigue when this happened and quickly began composing, knowing I may never see something like this again. This image ultimately ended up on the cover of one of my Idaho coffee table books. |
