Idaho, storm over Grays Lake Wildlife Refuge, #dr240
I watched the clouds roll over the lake with visual pleasure. I worked and tried to move with them so I could get balance and form in an image. Grays Lake is also a national wildlife refuge. The area is part of the U.S. Fish an Wildlife Service's effort to protect and restore habitat for nesting waterfowl. It has also become home to the world's largest concentration of greater Sand Hill Cranes. As many as 200 pair will nest in the refuge starting in early April. Many other bird species stop here for a rest during migration. |
