Utah, Dark Canyon Wilderness area, #dt347
The Dark Canyon Wilderness area is one of many designated and proposed wilderness areas in Utah. I hiked this canyon without seeing another person. It’s one of the more remote desert canyon wilderness areas in the state. This image is from the lower portion of the canyon, it eventually ends in Ponderosa Pine forests in the mountains beyond what can be seen here. I camped on this ridge and watched as the evening light brought out the texture in the cliffs. There are many hardships that the nature artist endures while traveling and exploring wild places. It’s scenes like this that make it worth the effort. |
