Idaho, north, Coeurd'Alene Lake, #dr168
Northern Idaho has the greatest concentration of lakes of any western state and Coeur d’Alene Lake has been labeled one of America’s most spectacular. The resort town of Coeur d' Alene is on its northern shore. A floating golf course, a mile long boardwalk, boat tours and all the other stuff a resort visitor might like or expect seem to be available. The mountains surrounding the lake are forested and with some exploration, one can find remnants of old growth Western Red Cedar forests that have survived fires, logging and pine dieses that have had an impact on the region in the last one hundred years. |
